Welcome to St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School — a community where hospitality, faith, and genuine belonging shape every part of school life. We are delighted to open our doors and hearts to you.
Our story stretches back to 1903, when the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart first began teaching local children in a small rented building near Bowral’s railway line. From those humble beginnings grew the vibrant parish school established on Bundaroo Street in 1943. Over time, our community has continued to flourish, joining the Wollongong Diocese system of schools in 1976 and welcoming our first lay principal in 1989. Through every chapter, the spirit of welcome and service has remained constant.
Our patron, St Thomas Aquinas, reminds us that faith and reason work together to reveal truth. His belief that curiosity, learning, and the search for understanding draw us closer to God continues to guide our mission today. In this same spirit, our staff help children navigate an ever‑changing world through learning grounded in faith, wonder, and a deep sense of purpose.
As part of the Parish of Corpus Christi, we strive to create a school environment rich in prayer, ritual, sacred music, signs, symbols, and the living traditions of our Catholic faith. We want every child - and every family - to feel known, welcomed, and supported.
Whether you are new to Bowral, exploring schooling options, or seeking a community where your family can grow in faith and friendship, we are honoured to share our story with you.
We look forward to welcoming you into the St Thomas Aquinas family.
