Sport

square tugowarEach class from Kindergarten to Year 6 engages in a weekly session of sport.  In addition to this, the Wollongong Diocese‚Äôs involvement in MacKillop and PSSA events provides access for children from 29 schools to potentially represent in sports at both a NSW and Australian level.

These sporting structures provide challenging opportunities for children who are highly skilled, have extensive experience in organised competition, have represented their local area/district in a sport or have the potential to represent, given that representative opportunities are not offered in their current age group.

The representative sports include tennis, basketball, hockey, soccer, netball, rugby league, rugby union, cricket, softball, touch football and AFL.  These representative opportunities are offered to children in Year 5 and Year 6 and nominations to be considered for participation in a trial are taken at the beginning of each year.

Children from Year 3 to Year 6 participate in school based swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals in order to fill representative positions.  In addition to this, the school enters some of the diocesan gala days organised by the CEO.
